All of life is bound by cycles. Not bound in chains, but bound by necessity. All of life turns by the moon, the dark becoming light, the light returning to dark. Humans like to believe that they are not bound by anything, yet this is not true. Humans are a part of nature, one with nature. We are bound by the same laws as the rest. We ebb and flow, have darkness and light, return to ourselves again and again.

What would happen if we fully embraced this part of us? What would change if we lived our lives in the cycle of nature, instead of trying to stranglehold nature and bend it to our desires?

Where could we start?

✷ Wake every morning with the rising of the sun.

✷ Settle into quiet comfort every evening with the setting of the sun.

✷ Look into the shadows of yourself during the new moon, chipping away at some of the hard work that needs to be done in this lifetime.

✷ Celebrate yourself and your achievements with every full moon; a party to honor how far you've come.

✷ Look up at the stars, reveling in the magic and mystery that we are surrounded by and realize how small we really are.

✷ Live from your knowing, trusting yourself inwardly to make decisions and know answers without the second-guessing of the ego.

✷ Listen to and record your dreams, seeing the wisdom they have to offer you each and every night.

✷ Become aligned with your ancestors, showing them reverence for the life they lived and reminding yourself of the reason you are here.

✷ Seek out the life of one ancestor at a time, finding out all you can about them. Ask them for guidance in the highest and purest ways. Ancestors love to help.

✷ Walk. Walk in all weather, settling into what you are feeling. Sun, snow, wind, rain, cold. Feel at all.

✷ Stand in the middle of a forest or wooded area and simply listen. Expand your hearing by being in tune to every noise you hear. This hearing expansion also opens your third eye. Listening is a great tool to use to tap into your inner being.

✷ Watch the birds. Watch their relationships with each other. Humans can learn a lot from birds.

✷ When summer is here, eat one meal that you grew. From balcony boxes to full-fledged farms, we can all grow one meal of our own making. Feel, through the nourishment you've given yourself, what you can do.

✷ And finally, sit in a garden. Any garden. Sit and watch. No thoughts, no preconceived ideas, just watch. See every movement, more than you'd ever expect. All of life coming together and working as one. One breathing, living entity. Gardens are healing, inspiring, awe-creating magnificence at your fingertips, and all it takes is 10 minutes of watching.

Choose to practice one or ten, but start somewhere. We are nature, nature is us. The sooner we understand and become aligned to this knowing the better off our species will be.
